Formed in 2012, Drunken Crocodiles began their journey with a period of experimentation and live performances, during which they recorded two EPs. In 2016, the trio found their direction and stability, beginning to share the stage with prominent artists.
In 2017, the band decided to fully commit to writing an album to shape the project more definitively. This effort culminated in the release of Out of Barrel in 2019, under Too Loud Records. The album featured eleven tracks, delivering a heavy sound with angry atmospheres and significant emotional depth. Following the release, the band embarked on a promotional tour through Eastern Europe later that same year.
However, during the Covid period, differing ambitions led to the disbandment of Drunken Crocodiles. In late 2021, Elia Borelli (founder, singer, and bassist) reunited with Federico Pardini (guitar) and Simone Silvestre (drums), re-establishing the project.
The revived Drunken Crocodiles once again charged forward, crafting new tracks to reclaim their distinctive sound, a product of time and passion. The band’s sound has evolved, now incorporating elements of the psychedelic and dreamlike atmospheres typical of Stoner Psych, while moving away from the aggression that characterized their debut album.
In the spring of 2023, the band embarked on a European tour to introduce the new lineup and their refined sound. Following this, they returned to the studio, where Aegony was recorded during the summer of 2024. Set for release under Argonauta Records in spring 2025, Aegony features six entirely new tracks, created with the current lineup and recorded with a commitment to the essence of “analog.” No reamping, no triggers, and no pitch correction—far from the loudness war, the band aimed to preserve the natural dynamics of the performance.
And here we are…
Stay Drunk, Stay Crocodiles!
